By installing, accessing, or using the Houdin browser extension ("the Extension", "Houdin", "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Extension.

Houdin is a browser extension that provides browser automation capabilities through a visual workflow designer. The Extension allows users to:

• Create and execute automated workflows on web pages
• Interact with web page elements (clicking, typing, form filling)
• Execute custom JavaScript code
• Make HTTP requests and API calls
• Store and manage credentials securely
• Inject custom UI components and styles into web pages

3. License and Usage Rights

3.1 License Grant

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Extension for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0.

3.2 Permitted Use

You may use the Extension for:

• Educational and research purposes
• Non-profit activities
• Government use

3.3 Prohibited Use

You may NOT use the Extension for:

• Commercial purposes or for-profit activities
• Selling, licensing, or sublicensing the Extension
• Violating any website's terms of service or robots.txt
• Automated data scraping for commercial purposes
• Circumventing security measures or access controls
• Creating malicious or harmful automated behaviors
• Spamming or creating excessive load on websites
• Any illegal or unauthorized activities

4. User Responsibilities

4.1 Compliance

You agree to:

• Use the Extension in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Respect the terms of service of websites you interact with
• Obtain necessary permissions before automating interactions with third-party services
• Use reasonable rate limiting to avoid overloading websites

4.2 Security

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your credentials and API keys secure
• Not sharing sensitive information through the Extension
• Monitoring your automated workflows for unexpected behavior
• Reporting security vulnerabilities responsibly

5. Privacy and Data Collection

5.1 Local Storage

The Extension stores data locally in your browser, including:

• Workflow configurations
• Execution history
• Credentials and API keys
• User preferences and settings

5.2 No Data Transmission

We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on external servers. All Extension data remains local to your browser.

5.3 Third-Party Services

When you use the Extension to interact with third-party services (e.g., OpenAI API), you are subject to those services' privacy policies and terms of use.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Extension Ownership

The Extension, including its code, design, and documentation, is owned by the project maintainers and protected by intellectual property laws.

6.2 User Content

You retain ownership of any workflows, scripts, or configurations you create using the Extension. However, you grant us the right to use anonymized usage patterns for improving the Extension.

7. Disclaimers and Limitations

7.1 "As Is" Provision

THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

7.2 Website Compatibility

We do not guarantee that the Extension will work with all websites or remain functional as websites change their structure or implement new security measures.

7.3 Automation Risks

You acknowledge that browser automation carries inherent risks, including:

• Unintended actions on web pages
• Potential violations of website terms of service
• Possible account restrictions or bans from third-party services

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE EXTENSION DEVELOPERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE EXTENSION.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Extension developers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Extension, including but not limited to violations of these Terms or third-party rights.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser.

10.2 By Us

11.1 Extension Updates
